Here’s what some of his students have said:

"Matthew is a very gifted guitar player and, more importantly, is highly effective as a teacher. I began taking lessons from Matthew after working with a couple of other teachers. The other teachers were very good players but I sensed there was something missing so I decided to give Matthew a try. After working with Matthew I realized the difference was his ability to communicate. He combines both the practical and theoretical in his teaching. I soon realized I was not only improving more quickly but actually having fun. I highly recommend Matthew."

"Matthew is an inspiring, encouraging and patient teacher.
He possesses a contagious enthusiasm. I always leave a lesson motivated and optimistic.
Matthew shows mastery of various playing styles and genres. His formal education, broad performance and teaching experience make him a superior instructor."

"Taking lessons with Matthew has definitely upped my guitar-game. Over the past year we've covered a diverse swath of material, but in digestible and appropriate bites. The genres of material that Matthew is familiar with is mind blowing, and no matter where my interests lead, he was able to direct and obtain results! I'm a huge Jazz fan, so we started there, and worked our way back through some Blues, and then around to Rock styles. The great thing is that we tied all the theory together as we went on the journey, so I feel that I've got a much more holistic sense of the guitar and how theory, and feel set with the instrument. Matthew left me with plenty of material to continue to explore and good strategies for working though material. I look forward to future lessons!"
